Nelson Mandela once said ‘Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor…’ yet young girls right across our local communities miss school, some even drop out because of this reason: menstruation. It has been estimated that 1 out of 4 girls miss school every month because of menstruation.
Young girls need a few things to properly manage their menstruation so that they do not have to miss school and be able to continue with their normal daily lives. Having access to a supply of sanitary towels is able to help with this issue and something as basic as this is able to make a great difference in a young girl’s life as well as enabling them to focus on their education.
All the funds raise for this cause will do directly acquiring sanitary and distributing them to young girls specifically in our rural communities.
